As you may be aware, there was recently a failure to the retaining wall on Thames Street in front of Electric Boat. The City of Groton is anticipating repairs at this location beginning Monday, January 27, 2020. Beginning Monday, Thames Street will be closed between Ledyard Avenue and the intersection of Eastern Point Road at Smith Street and as such traffic will be detoured onto Ledyard Avenue and Smith Street. The road will be closed in both directions at these points. We anticipate the road closure and detour will last approximately 2-3 weeks.
We have been in contact with the Groton Board of Education Transportation Coordinator and we suggest you contact them at 860-572-2100 if you have any questions regarding changes to bus stops, pick-ups or times.
